LBJ Senate Chamber Display

|
The LBJ Museum asked us to help on their Senate Chamber exhibit.
They needed some bas relief details for their recreation of the Senate Chambers in Washington, DC.
We created the ornate bas relief design on the doors, and the bas relief wreaths on the faux marble.
The rest of
the Senate chamber was created by the exhibit shop at the museum.
In the photos, you can see the sculpted clay version of the ornate door design in progress.
After the clay version was sculpted, a mold was made and the design was cast in plastic.
The wreaths were designed on Rhino, a 3D modeling program, and milled out on our digital router in urethane foam.
Exhibit designer Drew Patterson also had us mill out and paint the two splash panels of LBJ and the Capitol.
These are also made of urethane foam, and milled out from an illustrator file.
